Second 'Get Thrashed' Screening Added To Slipped Disc Festival

August 16, 2007

After selling out the 8:00 p.m. screening, a second showing of "Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal" has been added to the Slipped Disc Records Film Festival. The extra screening will be at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 25 and seating is limited.

Heavy Artillery Records recording artists MERCILESS DEATH will make an in-store appearance between the two "Get Thrashed" showings. The signing and photo op session will begin at 9:45 p.m. and a special, limited-edition "Get Thrashed" commemorative picture disc of the band's debut record, "Evil in the Night" will be sold at the screening.

"After 25 years of business and hundreds of in-store appearances, Slipped Disc Records has seen many firsts," said owner Mike Schutzman. "For us to be involved in such an epic venture of hosting a movie screening and an in-store simultaneously is exciting enough, but to be featured in 'Get Thrashed: The Story of Thrash Metal' as well is truly gratifying."

"I've seen some of the clips from 'Get Thrashed' and it will be great to see the whole film," said MERCILESS DEATH guitarist Dan Holder. "Musicians like Dan Lilker and Scott Ian have been there from the beginning and it will be cool to see the history of thrash in one film. Most of my music collection is thrash bands from the mid-'80s and thrash is the genre that I respect the most for its unlimited boundaries in speed and lyrics content."

Tickets are $5.00 advance and $9.00 on the day of the screening. Advance tickets are highly recommended as the second screening is likely to sell out.
